I’m not going to lie, I’ve never really been too keen on doing written work, especially when it comes to a creative subject like art or animation. “Why can’t I just make things, art is about expression not writing essays?!” is what I used to say back when I was naive and when it came to writing things it would always be the part of the lessons where I switched off. However, I can safely say that there hasn’t been a single lecture session that I’ve been bored in on this course. Maybe it’s because I’m finally doing something I love, or maybe it’s simply because the stuff I’m learning about is genuinely interesting and for the first time in a very long time, I really want to push myself and learn more about my craft! In one of today’s History and Theory sessions we analysed the criminal subtexts found in the first few minute of ‘The Incredibles’. Only in my wildest dreams did I ever imagine having a class where I’d be doing something like this.
I really love this course, and it I really hope it just keeps getting better!
